I was looking forward to Heller's Bend.
There's a good-sized pond shown there on the map.
But as I arrived there was no sign of a pond, lake or reservoir.
I did discover it was a nature preserve.
I saw some running water in the creekbed.
and saw this sign.
But it was an icy cold afternoon,
and I am pretty familiar with rattlesnakes.
Any snakes would have been slow-moving as molasses.
So I kept on looking around.
If there is a pond somewhere, I'll have to hunt much harder to find it.
Nice place to spend an hour, anyway.
