John and I found the Research Center Pond.
We parked in a law firm's lot,
stepped over a low barrier, and trudged up
this asphalt lane to the pond.
As we came up to the crest of the hill,
this is what we saw. Wow!
A typical "Behave Yourself" sign,
for a pond surrounded by a business park.
for a pond surrounded by a business park.
On the uphill side we saw evidence that this was
once a natural pond.
It was nicely groomed and hardscaped
as we turned towards the west.
A "disappearing edge" swimming pool effect.
The lawns and benches invite a midday break
from "research" and "finance" activities.
As we had other ponds on our minds,
we marched back down the ramp to the truck.
