At some unknown time in the past,
Raven Hill Lake was renamed Miramar Fish Pond.

A beautiful site, in the middle of San Diego,
it sits near the NW end of the air base runways

It was a bright winter day when I visited the Fish Pond,
but looks dark in its canyon.

A beautiful site, in the middle of San Diego,
it sits near the NW end of the air base runways
and the E end of the Miramar National Cemetery.
After looking at the images, my wife said "That could be Minnesota. Brrr"
It's a great place if you have military ID or a friend who does.
Docks, picnic tables, shade structures, emergency telephones, and a boardwalk
over the swampy bits.
The only question is whether it has fish!
The sign says it might have mountain lions...
